What is the working principle of the double roller press granulator?

2025/03/03

Generally speaking, there are two types of powder granulation technology: dry granulation and wet granulation. For example, the double roller press granulator adopts dry granulation, which squeezes the material into agglomerates or sheets without adhesion, and then crushes and screens them into granular products. The wet granulation is the opposite, mainly including roller granulators, disc granulators, etc.
With the continuous development of granulation technology, binder-free extrusion granulation technology is a very competitive technology. In general, particles are not formed by solid bridges between particles, but by the particle strength formed by the interaction between molecules. Because this force distance is short, the size of the particles is required to be similar, and external pressure is required. The pressure can be extrusion (using a hole with a fixed diameter to press the material) or extrusion, that is, pressurizing the two sides of the material to granulate. So what are the advantages of the double roller press granulator?

Use and characteristics of the double roller press granulator:
1. The machine has a good granulation effect on ammonium carbonate, monoammonium phosphate, etc., with a high ball formation rate, no need for drying, low investment and fast return on investment.
2. The machine has no drying process, granulates at room temperature, forms in one step, and requires little investment.
3. It has low power, no three wastes, stable operation, convenient maintenance, reasonable process layout, and low production cost.
4. The double roller press granulator has a wide adaptability to raw materials and can be used for granulation of various raw materials such as compound fertilizers, medicine, chemicals, feed, coal, metallurgy, etc., and can produce compound fertilizers of various concentrations and types (including organic fertilizers, inorganic fertilizers, biological fertilizers, magnetic fertilizers, etc.).
